What to wear to work

(dress-c/o American Apparel, slip-Helmut Lang, jacket-Forever 21, vest- Mink Pink via Threadsence, sunnies-Karen Walker c/o Need Supply, shoes-c/o Kelsi Dagger, bag-H&M, bracelets-House of Harlow, Threadsence)
I've always had a problem with getting dressed for work. It's been a struggle getting my sartorial formula just right. It is only very recently that I've been able to nail down my tried-and-true combinations. This outfit has become one of these go-tos. I have multiple variations of this dress which I cinch with vintage scarves or ribbons for morning proof workwear. My Karen Walker shades, oversized work bag, and an armful of bracelets add the finishing touches.

retro glam + Rodarte hair

(dress-Asos, shoes-c/o Pour La Victoire, bag-Marc by Marc Jacobs, bracelet-House of Harlow, ring-c/o besobeso)
I'd love to take the credit for my awesome Rodarte inspired hair in this post, but in reality I had very little to do with it. Our hairstylist recreated this for a Threadsence DIY tutorial launching later next week.
The only thing I can really take credit for is picking it out. But I think I did a good job at that.

pocket size

(shorts-c/o Hallelu, sweater-Threadsence, hat-H&M, sunnies-Karen Walker c/o Need Supply)
Boogie and I spent our Sunday morning leash training on the docks.
The sweet thing only has two speeds, stop and prance. It doesn't help that I give into his pouty brown eyes whenever the little prince wants to be carried.

sail away

 (dress-Ruche, belt-Asos, shoes-Outnet, sunglasses-Karen Walker c/o Need Supply, bracelets-besobeso, House of Harlow via Nastygal, ring-besobeso c/o Dietch PR, hat-H&M)
I couldn't resist picking up this Marc Jacobs look-alike from Ruche. It was perfect for our relaxing weekend on my parents' sail boat.

rooftop dreams

(skirt-Leyendecker, top-Leyendecker, purple & pink rings- besobeso, pastel bracelets-besobeso, gold cutout bracelet-House of Harlow, green ring-c/o The Shangri LA, shoes-c/o Miista, sunglasses-c/o Norma Kamali)
Another set from my little styling session over at Dietch PR. I just cant get over their stunning rooftop garden. I could live and die there.
I wonder what my landlord would say if I dragged rusty oversized benches and broken window frames onto my own roof?  On second thought, don't answer that.

missing skylines

(dress-Leyendecker, shoes-c/o Miista, necklace-Threadsence, bracelet- House of Harlow via Nastygal, purple stone ring-besobeso )
When the team at Dietch PR invited me over play dress up at their rooftop garden, I knew I couldn't resist.
I never thought I could miss a city skyline as much as I do. There's nothing like a sunset in the city. One by one, the sun floods then drains the streets with light. It's like playing a game of tag. You just keep running after the light, but it's always just a block away. Makes me realize just how much I miss San Francisco.

sweet cherry

(pants-Alice + Olivia, tank-J.Crew, bracelet-House of Harlow via Nastygal, sunglasses-c/o Norma Kamali, watch-vintage, necklace-Painted Bird)
I can't say enough good things about these Alice + Olivia cherry red trousers. These pants are  surprisingly comfortable, and while bold in their color, pair well with most prints. They have become my favorite way to pull together for a spontaneous late night date.

Through the Looking Glass

(Dress- Threadsence maxi skirt, necklace- Painted Bird)
I love finding pieces that can be transformed into something new.
I was lounging around in this maxi skirt all day, and needless to say feeling more than a little frumpy. When Sam suggested we pop outside for an afternoon drink, I was hesitant to interrupt my laziness, but Sam was relentless. Finally  I pulled off my top, pulled up the skirt, knotted it, and was out the door. It was the fastest he's ever seen me get dressed.
