combat colors

(dress-A.P.C., trench-Urban Outfitters, bag-Forever21, shoes-Rachel Comey, necklace-c/o Urban Natures, sunglasses-Nastygal)
Over the weekend I gifted myself these Rachel Comey Chadwick sandals as an early 1st day of work present. I don't officially start until today, but I'm not good at waiting.
The splurge was well worth it. The stacked wooden heel is the perfect height for a daytime look, while the soft marbleized leather adds a subtle touch of pattern. These sandals are now glued to my feet.

parking lots & skyscrapers

(top-Topshop, skirt-Wasteland, vest-Zara, shoes-Loeffler Randall, bag- c/o Hobo, sunglasses-YSL, urban-c/o American Apparel, necklace-vintage)
Just another windy day in SF. I really wish the weather would just make up it's mind already.
Cold or hot? Pick one and stick to it.
Trying to rework things already in my closet and refrain from shopping.
I figure that if I go deep enough inside my closet I will eventually find something "new".

Anyone actually been able to stick it out through one of the those shopping rehab bits?

P.S. Did you notice I match the background?
I really can't help but be inspired by even the most mundane things, like parking lots and skyscrapers.

crazy pants

(sweater-H&M, pants-?, shoes-Loeffler Randall, bag-Zara, cuff- Asos)
Finding this metallic sweater at H&M was like a dream come true. Cozy, oversized, asymmetrical and metallic? Perfection. I love finding those pieces you instantly know you're going to wear forever.
Style philosophy: Buy what you'll wear forever.

the art of shoe shopping

(sweater- Style by Marina, pants- Vince, bag- Forever 21, shoes- Loeffler Randall, turban- Asos vest- Zara, necklace- vintage)
I've been stalking this particular pair of Loeffler Randalls Mabels for a while now. I finally found them the other morning in something relatively close to my size and on sale at Revolve. After a mini heart attack I whipped out my card to BUY! BUY! BUY! Never has a purchase been more satisfying. That is until another pair of diligently stalked Loeffler Randalls popped up on sale at Endless. Serious fulfilment. Ultimate. Shoe. Fulfilment.

We snapped these pics in the morning before I went to work. My computer bag (not pictured, known as the beast) weighs at least 20 pounds on a good day, so it's nice when Sam walks me to work and carries the beast for me. Even better when he's awake enough to take pictures.

Shop Til You Drop

This is a few pictures we took of some of our favorite things during our weekend spent shopping a couple weeks ago. I love this pink Christmas tree. It is so light-hearted and fun. I love this camel coat. A camel colored coat is one of my favorite pieces for this winter. This fireplace displaying numerous scarves and heels is very creative and breathtaking. I loved these boat shelves. These would look amazing in my beach house I would love to own some day. My love for chandliers continues.
While shopping we discussed decor for kitchens and decided that cupcakes would be the most adorable accent for decorating a kitchen. Grr Rawr. Look how cute these dinosaurs are. This picture contains some great advice "Be Glamours." And I feel in love with this sparkly silver dress. This would be amazing to wear to holiday parties when you want to shine and be the center of attention. Disco balls and feathers. Very pretty. I cannot sleep in total darkness. If I wake up in the middle of the night I like being able to see at least how to navigate around my room. These nightlights are were adorable. We love gnomes. And here is a lady gnome. ☺ What shopping trip would be complete without stopping for a treat. Yum! Cupcakes! And here is the four cupcakes we chose.

I now have all of my Christmas shopping complete, except for a few little gifts for myself. How is your gift shopping going?

Shopaholic

Sorry that we haven't posted in a few days, but we have been super busy! We went on a weekend shopping trip! We left home bright and early on Saturday morning. After we picked our brother up and made it back to Lexington we went shopping! We ate lunch at Giovannis. Then some more shopping. After a while we needed a break and went to the movie theater, where we watched Despicable Me. It was a cute, animated movie. My favorite part was when Gru won the unicorn for the littlest girl. Here is a picture of that:Photobucket
I really liked the minions too. They were so funny and followed Gru's lead.

Sunday we spent the day shopping. We made it home last night. While we were on our shopping trip stores that we went to included: Macys, Gordmans, Old Navy, Barnes and Noble, Claire's, Target, FYE, and Walden's Books. I ended up spending a lot of money and buying quite a few things. Some of my favorite purchases are my owl necklace that I bought from Claire's, the books I bought, and the flower decorations that I bought at Gordmans.

We had so much fun, but we were so tired when we got home. How did you spend your weekend?

Weekend Warrior

This past weekend the Weekend Warrior I was not. I love weekends. And who doesn't? Especially when it is a 4 day weekend, like this last one was for me. 4 blissful, free days to do anything I wanted. Often though my weekends seem to blur by in a haze of things I have to do when all I really wanted to do was catch up on some much needed rest. Well not last weekend. Instead I decided to follow the advice of Bill Watterson, the American cartoonist who created the comic Calvin and Hobbes and who said, "Weekends don't count unless you spend them doing something completely pointless." Besides a few hours spent doing a little shopping Friday, my weekend was very laid back and relaxing. As a bonus, I scored some absolutely amazing deals while out shopping. Don't you love holiday sales? And I enjoyed a banana split milkshake before heading home. Yum! Sleeping in was the best part of my weekend. Usually by the end of the work weekend and my 5:15 am wake ups, I'm left exhausted. I love my bed. It is so big and comfy. My sheets feel wonderful and I have lots of warm quilts to cuddle up in. I slept extra late this past weekend. And when I did wake up I didn't rush out of bed. Instead I took my time waking up. I enjoyed some alone time this weekend during which I read magazines and watched hours of random tv and B movies. I sampled numerous desserts this weekend. I baked a peanut butter cheesecake for my sister. I'll share the recipe later. And I attended a family gathering for a couple hours Sunday where there was at least a dozen desserts.

So there was nothing exciting to share about my weekend but still it was very close to being a perfect weekend.

What is your favorite way to spend a weekend?

♥ Sunny
