Reverse Effect

{ F21 dress (worn underneath), skirt, & flats; Agaci belt; Target sunnies }

The weekend has arrived! Doesn't it just make you wanna sing the Rebecca Black "Friday" song? Yeah, me either. Though I couldn't say that when the song first came out. Shame on me, right?

In this previous post, I wore a dress as a skirt. For this outfit, I did kind of the opposite and wore a dress for just the top part and added a skirt for a different look. The skirt is pretty light, so adding the extra layer wasn't so hard to stand in the heat. Geez, I complain a lot about the heat in Texas. But honestly, I'd prefer it over the northern states' winters any day. I don't how they stand it!

It's Too Hot for Tights

Target romper and tights
Charlotte Russe cardigan
F21 shoes

This is true. You wouldn't catch me in tights during the daytime in 100 degree weather, but thankfully, although it may not look like it, these picture were taken in the evening right before Trae and I headed to the movies. It was still hot outside, but not as bad. I am always freezing in the theater (especially if I'm wearing shorts), so this time I planned ahead! These tights kept me warm and toasty; it was worth the funny looks I got!

We saw "X-MEN: First Class" which I thought was amazing! I love all the X-men movies, so I'm relieved this one was no different. I'd recommend going to see it if you might have been on the fence about it. We got there at 7:30 thinking the movie started at 8:00, but apparently I read the times wrong and it instead was starting at 7:35. I almost didn't want to go altogether because I thought all the good seats would've been taken (I loathe sitting at the very front, it hurts my neck!), but we bit the bullet and it turned out there were plenty of seats left. Phew! Crisis averted.

Upgrade: Stripes & Floral

F21 skirt & belt
American Eagle top
Target sandals
Aldo sunnies
Agaci bag

I noticed you guys thought my last post was an outfit post, but I honestly didn't mean for it to be! I looked so frumpy haha but thank you for the kind words! This is how I really like to rock the floral and stripes combo although I wish I hadn't chosen a top with sleeves because D.C. is just so gosh darn hot! I was sweating up a storm! Sorry, too much?

Trae and I went to the Holocaust museum, and it was truly a heart-breaking experience but a memorable one nonetheless. If you ever site-see around Washington DC, it is definitely worth the visit. On Saturday we plan on going to the American History Museum which has Lincoln's famous top-hat, Dorthy's red slippers, Fonzie's (from the show "Happy Days") leather jacket, all the dresses the former First Ladies wore to the Inaugural Ball, and so much more! I can't wait!

Oh, now I get it.

Abercrombie tank
F21 skirt and belt
Claire's sandals
Target sunnies

I've noticed a few bloggers complaining about Summer and the hot weather recently, and I'm always like, "WHY??" I love Summer! The heat, the beach, pool-time, no school (well, for me), relaxation, etc... so I never understood why so many fashion bloggers were anti-Summer. Now I get it. It limits your outfit choices! No tights, no boots, no scarves, no cardigans... why? It's too hot!! Today my city reached a high of 101 degrees... All I want to do is wear sundresses, so I'm gonna have to find a way to spice up my wardrobe for this season without suffering in this Texas weather.

Today was spent looking for a job. I applied at the closest stores to my house (which are 20 minutes away, ugh), so hopefully someone will give me an interview. I've never done retail before, anyone out there have any tips to share? Help a sista out. :)

I'm trying to get as many posts as I can within these next couple days because I leave for Washington D.C. on Monday! I'll be back on June 6th to share pictures of the trip!
