Weekend Escapades

It's here!

I drove home on friday night, and on my way there all of the headlights passing me by were starting to reallyyy irritate my left eye. I thought it was just because I was tired or something, but right when I got to Trae's house it started to hurt BADLY. Like, it hurt when any kind of light was in the room. Trae would turn on a lamp and my eye would flinch in protest. It was horrible! I immediately went to the eye doctor the next day and he told me I caught some sort of virus in my left eye. My first thought was "Great. Right before all of my finals." I was given medication, so it's feeling better now, but still! Just my luck, right?

ANYWAY-

Saturday was moving day! My parents bought a new house, so I had to tear my room apart in order to get all my crap in my car! The one cool thing about moving is that you find stuff that you lost years ago! I found a bracelet, some flips flops, and a purse that I was missing for ages! I also got to finally see me and Trae's camera! I love it! I need to read up on the manual.




Whilst cleaning, this sucker below (beware) was hiding under a giant stuffed bear I have and scared the !@#$% out of me!! I got up and ran screaming into the other room! Usually Trae thinks i overreact when it comes to bugs, but even he admitted those things are creepy. Luckily, it was dead already, but I didn't know that when I started freaking out haha.


I hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day! Here are some pictures of my family and I at a restaurant called Little Red Barn which we went to for lunch. Every time I go there I ask for a menu, and they tell me the menu is on the walls. Doh!







You're probably sick of looking at pictures by now, but hold on! I was able to take a couple of mediocre outfit shots Saturday night; I didn't have my closet to work from, just a dress I had to grab on the go while Trae was rushing me! Don't worry, this is just a sneak peak!

Fancy That

I didn't end up writing that paper as I had hoped, so tonight I really need to buckle down! Sometimes I completely loathe my uncanny ability to procrastinate until the last second. So this post will be short and sweet!

First of all, GOOD NEWS! I made a 98 on my midterm exam in my class called "Race, Ethnicity, and the Media." I love that class; it has really opened my eyes a lot and has made me view the world as well as minorities, stereotypes, racism, and the media in a whole new perspective. Hopefully one day I can share what I've learned on this blog.

Trae and I have found a potential candidate for the new DSLR camera we want to buy! It's the Canon Rebel T2i which looks pretty amazing. Does anyone else use this camera for their blog? Or maybe something similar? This camera is going to cost a pretty penny, so we've decided to share the price. I am so excited! However, I was planning on using my savings for a general admission ticket for Taylor Swift's concert coming in October (I love her), but it looks like I may have to wait. :( Maybe I will get lucky and someone will buy me tickets for my birthday hehe.

So, the reason behind the title of this post is that I'm going to start a series of (hopefully) weekly posts where I basically just let you guys know a few random things that I'm currently loving! Or as the English girl in me would say, the things I fancy... haha. Seriously, they really do say that a lot. Or at least my cousins and their friends do. All of the photos will be linked back to where I originally found them.
So here's the first list! :)

I found a GREAT pair once at Aldo, but they would have cost an arm and a leg! Sigh.

Roxy moves away

Trae's sister, Roxy, got married about a month ago to her longtime love, Luke. Today, they moved away to 29 Palms in California where Luke is stationed (he's a marine). It's crazy how fast this day came! I remember Roxy telling me her future plans a year ago! Saturday we spent helping them pack a U-Haul with all of their furniture, wedding presents,and various belongings. We spent the night hanging out and played a boardgame called "Funglish" (which I dominated!) while some of the extended family came over to see Roxy before she left to California.
It seemed like the family had so much more time to spend with her and then poof! All gone. It was sad to see her go, but we know we'll see her again soon! It's exciting to think another chapter of her life is just now starting!
We'll miss you, Roxy!

For the little bit of weekend we had left, Trae and I went to a couple stores to check out a few DSLR cameras. I've never been sure what's a good brand to get, but I do know Canon has never let me down before. Is Nikon any better? I wish I had some suggestions. We decided whatever camera we decide on we will split the cost and share it (since they are so expensive!!). I can't wait until I can finally put some better quality pictures on my blog. :)

Friday Favorites

Yay! It's Friday! We made it through another rough week of work. This time of year things are always a lot busier. Once work is finished on Fridays, they provide a sweet escape from work and work related things (well almost).
