Just Go with It

{ Wet Seal top; F21 skirt; Agaci belt & sunnies; Wanted wedges }

Who knows what my thought process was for this outfit; I sure don't. At first I was just going to stick with the safe route and wear my tan sandals to match the belt, but then I saw my yellow wedges and thought "what the heck? I'll add a third pop of color." So this is the result.

I can't believe it's August already! I didn't even realize it yesterday. So much is going on this month! Beach trip, Orlando trip, move-in day, back to school... which I still haven't ordered my textbooks. Ugh, so stressful. I try not to think about it. Why can't summer last for 9 months, and school only 3 months? That would be so much easier... Of course, then it would take like 10 years to graduate, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make! ;p

Hot (air balloon) Mess

( Macy's top; F21 shorts, belt, flats, and headband; Express cardigan )

Friday already? Yikes, my summer is flashing right before my eyes! I still haven't ordered my textbooks yet. Last semester I waited until my professors confirmed that we actually did need them (y'know, to save money!). Big mistake. I was slacking in all of my assignments because I waited too long! Not this time. Nope! Ugh, I really don't wanna go back though. I've noticed that most bloggers I've stumbled upon are already done with school, and to that I say, "luckkyyyy..." (and I say this with my best Napoleon Dynamite impression... which isn't that good).

Well, I tried my best for this outfit, but honestly, I'm lookin' a little frumpy! Maybe it's because I was way too lazy to do anything to my hair. I once read that "second day hair" looks way nicer than after you just washed it... I wish that applied to me! Can you even tell I'm wearing a headband? Trae said he didn't even notice! Also, I think this cardigan is just a little too thick to be belted. It's one of my favorite pieces, but I guess I'll have to try a different tactic neck time! Maybe a wider belt would do the trick... Any suggestions?

Have a lovely Friday everyone!

Summer Blockbusters

One of my favorite things about Summer is all the new movies coming out! I've basically been staring at this poster of Johnny Depp for days haha I mean, how can you not?? Ahhhh I just love him!

My outfit posts have to be put on hold yet again which is a total bummer. I'm up in Austin until Monday night for my four finals, so I won't have time to post any! Tomorrow I've got my Italian and History finals (one right after the other), Saturday is my Race & the Media final, then Monday morning I have a Sociology exam. I am counting down the days!! However, being practically alone in my apartment for days hasn't exactly made me as "studious" as I'd like. I guess because by the time I get to finals week, I am already certain that I've passed the class so I just. don't. caaaaare anymore! You ever get that feeling? It seems like a constant thing for me every semester. I mean, as I type this now, America's Next Top Model is playing in the background and it's a season I've already seen! Seriously, I am a champion procrastinator.

On the subject of my title, here are a few more movies I am stoked to see this Summer!

Did I miss anything? What movies are you guys excited to see this Summer??

A Dose of Optimism

dose of optimism

I saw this uplifting message through a tweet that Little Chief Honeybee posted on Twitter, and it made me feel a little better after a long, stressful day. I just wanted to share it with you guys!

Today is my last day of school! I still have four finals so I won't technically be done until May 16th, but still, it's pretty nice to not have to wake my lazy bum up to go to classes! Until August, that is...
At the end of the month, Trae and I will be going to Washington D.C. to help work for my mom! This is the first time him and I will be traveling together to somewhere outside of Texas! So we're pretty stoked. I haven't been to D.C. since I was nine years old! I can't wait to check out the museums and visit good ol' Abe again. With all this talk of terrorists possibly attacking the U.S. for revenge, I hope nothing bad or crazy goes on while we're there! Yikes.

I'm going home to San Antonio tonight for Mother's Day weekend. I've packed the majority of my stuff from my room, so right now my room looks bleak and depressing without all of my pictures and decor on the walls. My parents are in the process of moving into a new house (to an even farther location, ugh), and I still haven't seen it so I'm gonna check it out tomorrow. From the pictures my mom sent me, it looks pretty sweet. I just hate driving so far! Bleh.

I finally get to see my new camera tonight when I see Trae, eeeep! This means my outfit posts can finally get started! Be excited. ;)

And be glad tomorrow is Friday! Whoop!

Fancy That

I didn't end up writing that paper as I had hoped, so tonight I really need to buckle down! Sometimes I completely loathe my uncanny ability to procrastinate until the last second. So this post will be short and sweet!

First of all, GOOD NEWS! I made a 98 on my midterm exam in my class called "Race, Ethnicity, and the Media." I love that class; it has really opened my eyes a lot and has made me view the world as well as minorities, stereotypes, racism, and the media in a whole new perspective. Hopefully one day I can share what I've learned on this blog.

Trae and I have found a potential candidate for the new DSLR camera we want to buy! It's the Canon Rebel T2i which looks pretty amazing. Does anyone else use this camera for their blog? Or maybe something similar? This camera is going to cost a pretty penny, so we've decided to share the price. I am so excited! However, I was planning on using my savings for a general admission ticket for Taylor Swift's concert coming in October (I love her), but it looks like I may have to wait. :( Maybe I will get lucky and someone will buy me tickets for my birthday hehe.

So, the reason behind the title of this post is that I'm going to start a series of (hopefully) weekly posts where I basically just let you guys know a few random things that I'm currently loving! Or as the English girl in me would say, the things I fancy... haha. Seriously, they really do say that a lot. Or at least my cousins and their friends do. All of the photos will be linked back to where I originally found them.
So here's the first list! :)

1. Lace
You can wear lace so many different ways!

2. Feathers
So cute for earrings.

3. Polka-dots
The 50s are making a comeback.

4. Pattern tights
Love love love these.

5. Floral shorts
I want some so bad!

6. Geek-Chic glasses
Unfortunately, I have yet to find a pair that doesn't make me look ridiculous.

7. Tribal patterns
I actually have this dress in another color hehe.

8. Stripes
I can't get enough.

9. Nautical
Summer is fast approaching!

10. Combat boots
I found a GREAT pair once at Aldo, but they would have cost an arm and a leg! Sigh.

Tell me what you think! What new trends are you loving right now?

New layout!

I wanted to try something different for my blog. I am so indecisive, but I will try to resist changing the details too often hehe. I don't have many followers yet, so I don't think I need anything fancy as of now. Sometimes it's nice to keep things simple :) What do you guys think?

I didn't go to any of my classes today. I am trying to finish an essay that's due next week that way I can have time to go to Easter with my family this Sunday!  I also have to write another essay about any video on youtube that contests to racism. I've been looking for hours, and a lot of the stuff I've seen is so sad and offensive. Even cartoons like Loony Toons were showing/saying things that nowadays would be completely inappropriate. I still don't know which to write about though.... As I've said before, I am not good at writing papers.

I better get back to work, so for your entertainment: random pictures taken from my cellphone!

I saw this bike on campus at school (the design is the Texas flag!); I wish I had one!

Cute colored glasses given to Trae and I at a Thai restaurant! How sweet. Which reminds me... Who ever decided pink was for girls and blue was for boys? Just wondering...

I drew these whilst bored in my Italian class. I enjoy drawing random cartoon animals heh...

Blurry picture, but I love catching his real smile. :)

Vertigo

That's how I feel right now. Barely any sleep for the second night in a row. Four Exams. One Quiz. One paper due on Monday. And the week is just starting!
Why does today feel like Thursday?
I tried to get myself up at 6:30 am so I could get some last minute studying done before my test at 9:30. Yeahhh that didn't work. I have the worst study habits. Thankfully, the tests went okay. I knew the material, so as long as I didn't fail everything is peachy.
I have to go back to school in half an hour when all I want to do is sleeeeeeep.
On the bright side, Trae is coming to Austin tonight :D Last time I saw him was almost 2 weeks ago on our 1 year anniversary, so I've really been missing him! Especially after this dreadful week. Unfortunately I have an Italian test tomorrow, so I feel bad that he'll be here while I have to study. Sometimes school can really suck. But it's worth it!
Oh, and did I mention...

I AM SO STOKED FOR TOMORROW.
A lot of my friends have been to her concert, and everyone tells me it's amazing so I can't wait to see what she has in store for her show. Especially the outfits... I feel like her outfits are more interesting to the public than her music haha. But I actually like both so I know it will be a fun time! Trae will be coming with me. I'm not completely sure if he even likes Lady Gaga lol I don't recall asking him... But he must not hate her otherwise he wouldn't have bought the tickets for us! As a musician, he respects all types of music and can see something good in almost everything which is a quality in him that I adore. I mean, only a truly great guy would be willing to put up with my Taylor Swift CDs ;)

On a completely different subject... my Italian teacher says the weirdest things. Some are hilarious, others are just plain "what the heck is he talking about?" haha I love it. Our Italian class agreed that the perfect adjective to describe him would be "GROOVY." Probably because he reminds us of Sean Penn's character Spicoli in the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High which if you haven't seen it, GO SEE IT. I personally think it's hilarious and helloooo it's an 80's movie! What's not to love? Anyway, I'll be posting them at the bottom of posts if you'd like to keep an eye out for them. Sadly I'll only be able to do these quotes for about a month or so because that's when the semester ends, so enjoy them while you can!

One last thing, I want to wish my best buddy Rene a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And welcome to no longer being a teenager :)
(Ahhh this picture is a year old! Back when I had a nose ring haha)
Ciao!

Holding on

Today I took my Sociology test, and I'm pretty sure I didn't do so great. I just hope I passed. On a multiple choice test, I hate when teachers purposely make two of the answers ridiculously similar so that I'm freaking out on which one to choose.
It was rainy and cloudy this morning, and by noon it was sunny and windy. Texas weather is weird.
Two more exams tomorrow then one more on Wednesday before the Lady Gaga concert.
I CAN DO THIS.

Anyway, here's my first outfit post :) And yes I know I have a gummy smile.

What I wore:
Forever 21 shoes, floral top, and black jeans
Target sunglasses
Charlotte Russe cardigan
Express black tanktop

A Saturday for studying...

I didn't plan on spending my whole weekend studying, but I guess along with college comes sacrifices, right? I have a Sociology exam Monday, two exams on Tuesday for History and a class called Race, Ethnicity, & the Media, THEN (as if it weren't enough) on Wednesday I have an Italian exam. Torture. On the bright side, last year my boyfriend bought us tickets to see Lady gaga for April 6th which coincidentally falls on the night of my last exam, so that will be a really nice reward for a tough week! I'm excited. Because my boyfriend lives an hour away in San Antonio, he will usually drive up to Austin on the weekend to hang out with me; however, because of all the studying I knew I'd be doing, he had to stay home this time. So, today when I was just about ready to fall asleep from reading my history book, my roommate comes in and said I got a letter! I never get mail, so after singing the "We just got a Letter" song from Blues Clues (weird, I know), I opened it and was surprised to see a just-because card from my boyfriend! It's those little things that make me love that boy more and more each day. After that I was feeling all lovey-dovey so I made this collage hehe.

He even drew a little version of himself to keep me company while I study haha it actually looks just like him! I hope everyone else is having a better weekend than me! Back to the books....
