During the summer, the beach is a huge destination for most people. Hitting the beach is a great way to soak up some sunshine. When it gets too hot you can always cool down by going for a swim in the ocean. Another great activity for the beach is building sand castles. I have no skill when it comes to things like this though, but some people are really skilled. They can create huge detailed designs like the ones below:

Not much of an outfit per se, but I thought it would be fun to do a beach edition post. These photos were taken in South Padre Island which, in my opinion, has the best beach in Texas. The water is clear, and there isn't a whole bunch of dried up seaweed on the shores like other beaches. I wanted to take my cousins from England to the beach before they left (they leave tomorrow morning, so sad!!) so that they could see why we all love it here. I've been going to this same beach since I was little, but before I met Trae, I hadn't gone in almost 3 years. Trae and his whole family are total beach bums, so I've been going pretty often these days! I'm so grateful they let us use their condo! The drive is 4 1/2 hours, but it's totally worth it.

And those sunglasses I'm wearing (which I've been wearing for the past year & a half) have finally broke. I am a sad panda.

Now that Spring is here I am longing for the beach. I do not see myself getting there anytime soon though. In my thoughts of the beach I can't help but think about how magnificent the ocean must look. I love looking at photos of the water. Sunsets and sunrises look so beautiful and so do the rolling waves.

I think the sides of this shirt are like the gentle rolling of the waves. This top could easily be casual when paired with jeans or for work when paired with khakis. I don't get a vacation this year but that hasn't stopped me from daydreaming daily about fantastic getaways. I would love to be soaking up the sun and splashing in the water on a beautiful beach. And wouldn't watching the sunset over the ocean be wonderful? I would definitely stay in a lovely beach house right on the beach so I could walk down my steps and be in the sand. Countless hours would be spent on the boardwalk where I could play games, enjoy the lights, and people watch. Nothing would be better at night than gathering a group around a bonfire. Hanging out, toasting marshmellows and listening to music. I would make sure to eat my share of boardwalk food. Tons of ice cream, boardwalk fries. And especially funnel cake. Yummy! I hope I could work up the courage to take a surfing lesson. I've always thought it looks like so much fun but it still intimidates me. I would take some time to build amazing sandcastles. The way this one is lit up is extremely impressive. But most of all I would make sure I had plenty of time to just relax and enjoy being stress free.

Ahhh... back at the shore

One of my favorite places in Delaware is going down to Lewes and Rehoboth Beach in the summer. Since moving out to LA, I haven't been back east in the summertime, so being able to bring Damon and his mom down and show them a big part of growing up was SO great! Plus, I won a tiny stuffed shark playing skeeball at Funland that kitten loves to play with.
