A Gray Area

When I love at my closest I see lots of blues and greens because those are my favorite colors. Another thing I love to have in my closest are neutral colors like gray. These colors look good with multiple colors which is why they are a must have in any wardrobe. I really like gray when it is paired with black, pink, or shades of blue.

This sweater dress looks so comfortable and I love the red accessories with this first out fit. In this second outfit I have paired a beautiful gray skirt with a darker shade of blue. I love the shape this skirt makes because of how it is gathered in various places. My favorite accessories are the bracelet with the roses and the blue shoes!

This last polyvore is full of random things that I like that are gray. That dress is my favorite item, because I think it is so elegant and feminine looking. I also love the blazer and could see myself pairing it with a pink top. Also I love that the sunglasses have a kind of purple tinted lenses.

That's Just Peachy

One color that I don't see a lot of people wearing is peach. I don't see a lot of clothes in that color either. Peach is such a beautiful color, so I don't really get this. To me peach is a very soft, feminine, romantic color. A couple of days ago I saw a great peach outfit on Robbie at The Other Side of the Pond My Dear. She was wearing the cutest peach lace shorts with a great cream top and the cutest hat. You should go check it out! Looking online I have seen many instances where someone has a peach article of clothing and they don't know what to pair with it. They are unsure of what colors actually look good with peach. I think if you like two colors together then you should wear them together. I, myself, love pairing the color peach with neutral tones. Look One: Peach and Gold
I absolutely adore this peach and gold outfit. I could see myself wanting to wear this to a formal occassion or for when I want to dress to impress. Look Three: Peach and Gray
Another great combination! I love the detailing of the flowers around the neck of this peach top. The layering of the pencil skirt is so cute too. I can see this top transforming easily from work to fun. I think of pencil skirts more as a wear to work thing, so by switching the pencil skirt for a more flowy skirt you are ready to meet up with friends. These gray heels are so goregous with the zipper details.

Look Five: Peach and Brown
This is my very casual peach look. I could see myself wearing this for just hanging out at a friends house, running errands, going shopping, or just chilling at home. Birds of a Feather...

This spring and summer I have really liked clothes with birds on them whether it is a shirt, dress, or jewelry. Birds also make me think back to the literature classes that I have had where we have had to read books, short stories, poems, etc. and know the symbolism that occurs in the books (I had two classes like this in high school). Birds in general, typically symbolize freedom. Often times, since they are not earth bound creatures, they are used to represent something between the psychical world and the spiritual world. You don't have to look at the big picture though, individual types of birds also have their own symbolism. One of my favorites is that the crane symbolizes longevity and health. Another is that the eagle symbolizes protection.

I LOVE the bird rings that I have paired with the first two outfits. The first ring is so simple but I think it is so beautiful. The second ring is so bright and cheerful that I adore it. I think the shirt with the parrots on it is such a pretty color and the parrots are sitting so that they kind of form a heart! Who Gives a Hoot?

I have an immense fascination with owls. I think they belong on anything and everything from lamps to pillows, shirts to necklaces, purses to rings, and so on. I find owl jewelery very charming. Owls have been used to symbolize certain things. I am sure most of us are aware of owls being a symbol for wisdom, because a lot of us have heard the saying, "Wise as an owl" before. All Tied Up

As you may be starting to see I am a huge fan of ladylike fashion. And bows are no exception. I love the feminine embellishment and touch of romance they add. Best of all bows can be worn at any size, it doesn't matter how small or big they are, and they can be added to anything from a dress to a headband to a great handbag.

They also immediately make me picture Blair Waldorf (who by the way has been included in numerous lists for best dressed tv character) from Gossip Girl explaining that the bow on a headband should always be worn on the right side. You may also want to consider a little do it yourself project by adding a bow to a boring piece of clothing in your closet or consider wearing a ribbon instead of a belt.
